Facilitating access to quality education for under resourced children

Malawi is a relatively small country located in the southern part of Africa. Despite being a peaceful place, it is a highly-populated, poverty-stricken country. Its critical challenges are poverty, poor education, hunger, ill-health and HIV/AIDS.

Mercy High School facilitates access of education to less privileged children. We offer Christian leadership; academic excellence and spiritual development to enrich the whole student with necessary abilities to overcome their every day challenges.

Our Programs & People

Malawi’s dense population continues to stretch its resources. Its economy depends largely on small scale agriculture with only one annual harvest because of the rainy season. After selling their produce, most farmers’ households gross less than $200 annually; thus, the average household survives on less than a dollar per day. 65 % of the population lives below poverty line making it the first poorest country in the world.
